• What is Chicago Unzipped? Chicago Unzipped is the new city guidebook geared toward anyone looking for a different way to travel the city. Our mission is to provide you with an honest, entertaining and informative resource. Whether you've just moved to the city or want to rediscover the city where you grew up Chicago Unzipped covers everything from tourist traps like Michigan Avenue and Navy Pier to the lesser-known, independent shops and pubs. • Why Unzipped? It's called Chicago Unzipped because it helps to "expose" the unkown and less traveled side of the city. You know the tourist's "to see" list of Chicago sites, like Navy Pier and Michigan Avenue, but there are thousands of other places to go. Unzipped is your means of demystifying this huge and intimidating city. Give it a chance, and it could make a cultured, educated, and active Chicagoans out of you. • What is new to the 2006 edition? We have added four neighborhoods: Logan Square, West Town, Hyde Park, and South Shore, all easily accessible by the CTA. Plus there is now a section for coverage of Chicago's distinct ethnic neighborhoods. We have also improved the neighborhood maps and made it easier to locate each establishment featured. • What is it like? The guidebook is over 300 pages, printed full-color on magazine-like glossy pages. With original photography and design, and its young and engaging tone, Chicago Unzipped is more than a typical tour book. • How do I use Chicago Unzipped? The guidebook is divided into fifteen Chicago neighborhoods with an additional section for Chicago's ethnic neighborhoods. The neighborhood sections are divided into three categories: "to eat," "to play" and "to shop." Short articles describing over 800 establishments include the address and best CTA-accessible route. • How do I get one? Head over to the purchase page. You can buy the book securely online through PayPal or in stores listed. Chicago Unzipped is also sold at Amazon.com. • Who made it? Founded in 2005, the book is published by Northwestern Student Holdings (NSH), an entrepreneurship company run through Northwestern University that supports student-run business ventures. NSH is headed by undergraduates and a board of directors with members from the Northwestern University faculty, students in the Kellogg School of Business, and local small-business investors. • Who sees it? 4,500 copies of the first edition were sold last year to students and young professionals in the Chicago area. We expect that number to increse with the release of the new 2006 edition. • Can Chicago Unzipped use my help? There are several ways you can help us out.
